Atorvastatin Side Effects

There is a minor chance of having a liver damage while under lipitor treatment. Therefore, you may need to perform a blood test to check your liver function before starting to take this medication. Also once you start taking atorvastatin, you may need to perform a blood test few months later to make sure the medication is not causing any liver damage to you. Lipitor atorvastatin may also damage your muscle tissues. Make sure you contact your doctor immediately if you notice any unexplained muscle tenderness, weakness, or pain, especially if you also have a fever or feel sick. Your doctor may need to perform a blood test to check for signs of muscle damage.
Other atorvastatin side effects may include abdominal pain, allergic reaction, back pain, changes in eyesight, cold, constipation, diarrhea, dry eyes, as well as dry skin, flu symptoms, gas, hair loss, headache, heartburn, indigestion, inflammation of sinus and nasal passages, itching, joint pain, leg cramps, muscle aching or weakness, purple or red spots on the skin, rash, sore throat, urinary problems, vomiting, and weakness.

The most frequent adverse events thought to be related to Atorvastatin calcium were constipation, flatulence, dyspepsia, and abdominal pain.
