Lipitor is a synthetic antihyperlipidemic that acts to lower the lipid levels in the body by blocking its ability to synthesize cholesterol. By blocking cholesterol synthesis, lipitor reduces the risk of heart disease and/or stroke. Lipitor Atorvastatin is used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. This drug is used to help prevent medical problems caused by such substances clogging the blood vessels. It may also be used to prevent certain types of heart problems in adults.
