Side Effects
Sibutramine Side Effects
Just like most other medications, there are some meridia side effects as well. Most meridia side effects are associated with a 10mg meridia dosage. This can be prevented by taking a 5mg meridia dosage. Maximum 15mg meridia dosage recommended for a maximum of 2 years therapy.
Some side effects are common and less severe, other are severe. Consult your physician if you experience any one of the common side effects below:
- change in appetite
- constipation
- heartburn
- headache
- dry mouth
- weakness
- back pain
- nervousness
- difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
- runny nose
- painful menstrual periods
- flu-like symptoms
- flushing
Some meridia side affects can be severe. If you experience any of the serious effects below, contact your doctor immediately:
- chest pain
- shortness of breath
- upset stomach
- fast or pounding heart beat
- stomach pain
- vomiting
- extreme excitement
- restlessness
- anxiety
- depression
- dizziness
- lightheadedness
- fainting
- confusion
- uncoordinated or abnormal movement
- muscle stiffness
- shaking hands that you cannot control
- seizures
- difficulty speaking, breathing, or swallowing
- hoarseness
- shivering
- excessive sweating
- fever
- sore throat
- large pupils (black area in center of eyes)
- change in vision
- eye pain
- hives
- skin rash
- itching
- swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
- unusual bleeding or bruising
