Norvasc (Amlodipine)
Things to know before you buy Norvasc online
What is Norvasc and why it is prescribed?
Norvasc is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure and chest pain. Amlodipine comes under 2 different brand names: one is norvasc and other is Caduet. Caduet is a combination of amlodipine and atorvastatin which treats high blood pressure and high cholesterol if you have the both at the same time.
Norvasc is in a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. It helps lower the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump that hard. The drug controls chest pain by increasing the supply of blood to the heart. If the medication is taken regularly, amlodipine controls chest pain, but it does not stop chest pain once it starts. Your doctor may prescribe a different medication to take when you have chest pain.
Other use of Norvasc
Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker sometimes prescribed for the treatment of mania associated with bipolar disorder commonly known as manic depression. It may also have other uses. Contact your doctor for more information.
