Plavix Side Effects
Clopidogrel Side Effects

Along with its much needed effects, Plavix may have some undesired side effects associated with it. Some side effects are less serious and some are more serious needing medical attention.

Following are less serious and common Plavix side effects:

• upset stomach
• diarrhea or constipation
• headache or dizziness

For the above mentioned Plavix side effects, you do not need to stop taking Plavix (clopidogrel). Keep using clopidogrel but make sure you consult your doctor.

Following Plavix side effects are rare but more serious. Stop taking plavix clopidogrel and contact your doctor or healthcare professional immediately.

• difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives
• bloody or black vomit or stools
• severe headache, confusion, or dizziness
• unexplained bruising or bleeding
• bleeding nose

Plavix and Aspirin

Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, indocin, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) without first talking to your doctor. NSAID medication like aspirin can cause bleeding when taken with plavix.
