Mirtazapine Side Effects
Just like most of the other
medications, there are some remeron side effects as well. About
half of the patients under remeron mirtazapine medication develop
sleepiness. Because of this, it is recommended to be taken before
bedtime. In clinical trials, about one in ten persons had to stop
therapy because of this side effect. About one in 14 persons developed
dizziness, and one in 6 developed an increase in appetite. Some
patients experience weight gain, sometimes requiring discontinuation
of treatment. Mirtazapine may increase blood levels of cholesterol and
triglycerides. One in four persons also develops dry mouth.
Although
there are some side effects to this drug, remeron side effects are not
usually common. However, you should consult your doctor if you
experience any one of the following side effects:

drowsiness

dizziness
-
anxiousness
-
confusion
-
increased weight and appetite
-
dry mouth
-
constipation
-
upset stomach
-
vomiting
If
you experience any of the following side effects, contact your doctor immediately:
-
flu-like symptoms, fever, chills, sore throat, mouth sores, or other signs of infection
-
chest pain
-
fast heartbeat
-
seizures
Remeron dosage is different in patient to patient. Follow your doctor’s recommendation on proper remeron dosage. Usually it is 15mg per day for adults with no more than 45mg a day. If you somehow miss a dose and can remember it the same day, take it as soon as possible. However, if you don’t remember the missed dose till the next day, skip the missed dose and continue from the next day’s dose as usual.
