Wellbutrin Side Effects
Bupropion Side Effects 

Wellbutrin is different from other medications and have fewer side effects. However like most of other medications, there are some wellbutrin side effects. Wellbutrin  has fewer sexual side effects and weight gain are associated with it. Also, fewer reports of anticholinergic symptoms (such as: blurred vision, dry mouth, indigestion, and constipation), cardiac problems, and orthostatic hypotension (such as: low blood pressure occurring after standing up) have been reported.

Approval of wellbutrin was temporarily delayed due to the occurrence of seizures in some patients. But further investigation showed that seizures were primarily associated with high doses (above the current maximum recommended dose of 450 mg/day) and in patients with a history of seizures or brain trauma, eating disorder, excessive alcohol use, or taking other drugs that can also increase the risk for seizures. With new warnings and lower recommended doses, the chance of having seizures has been greatly reduced.

Other common wellbutrin side affects include restlessness, insomnia, headache or a worsening of preexisting migraine conditions, tremor, dry mouth, agitation, confusion, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, nausea, constipation, menstrual complaints, and rash.

• drowsiness

• restlessness

• excitement

• anxiety

• dry mouth

• difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep

• dizziness

• headache

• upset stomach

• vomiting

• tremor

• weight loss

• constipation

• excessive sweating

There are some serious side effects as well. Though the following symptoms are uncommon, call your doctor immediately if you experience any one of them:

• seizure

• confusion

• seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist (hallucinating)

• irrational fears

• fever

• severe skin rash

• itching

• hives

• swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs

• hoarseness

• difficulty breathing or swallowing

• chest pain

• muscle or joint pain

• rapid, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
