ZYPREXA (olanzapine)

Zyprexa Olanzapine is used to treat psychotic mental disorders, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and agitation that occurs with schizophrenia and bipolar mania.

Zyprexa olanzapine was also approved for the treatment of acute bipolar mania in 2000. The medication is available in the following dosage: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg and 20 mg tablets. These coated tablets should not be split or crushed since the coating can become quite sharp once broken by hand.

Treatment with zyprexa olanzapine can improve the following symptoms:

  • Treatment with zyprexa can improve symptoms of schizophrenia. 

  • Treatment with olanzapine can improve symptoms of mania and depression associated with bipolar disorder.
